Admettre que - French subjunctive?

Does admettre que take the French subjunctive?

Yes and no! 

Admettre que is followed by the French subjunctive only in negative sentences and in questions with inversion.
In affirmative sentences, the verb is conjugated in the indicative.

Example

Admettre que – To admit that

Affirmative: Le producteur a admis que cela l’a beaucoup surpris.
The producer admitted that this surprised him a lot.

Negation: Le producteur n’a pas admis que cela l’ait beaucoup surpris.
The producer did not admit that this surprised him a lot.

Question with inversion: A-t-il admis que cela l’ait beaucoup surpris?
Did he admit that it surprised him a lot?
