How to say TO BE EARLY in French?

To be early in French is very easy to translate since we use the same verb in English and in French: To be – ÊTRE. The only tricky part is that “early” translates to EN AVANCE.

Let’s see the sentence in context with all the conjugations of ÊTRE in the present tense

  • Je suis en avance – I am early
  • Tu es en avance – You are early
  • Il est en avance – He is early
  • Elle est en avance – She is early
  • On est en avance – We are early
  • Nous sommes en avance – We are early
  • Vous êtes en avance – You are early
  • Ils sont en avance – They are early
  • Elles sont en avance – They are early

Don’t forget the LIAISON between the verb and EN, and also between pronouns and the verb.

  • Je suis Zen Navance – I am early
  • Tu es Zen Navance – You are early
  • Il est Ten Navance – He is early
  • Elle est Ten Navance – She is early
  • On Nest Ten Navance – We are early
  • Nous sommes Zen Navance – We are early
  • Vous Zêtes Zen Navance – You are early
