French Online Schools Review

In this article, I review the 3 best French Online Schools for you starting with italki, followed by Lingoculture, and finally Lingoda. Let’s see the pros and cons of each!

Quick disclaimer, I am not getting paid by these schools to make this review, but I am an affiliate of the 3 of them. Which means that if you choose to purchase classes with them, I get a small commission. It helps me create more content. I also got a great discount for you if you want to try any of them.

I am reviewing them by alphabetical order, so I don’t give preference to any of them.

So let’s start with italki!

French Online Schools Review - italki

italki is an online language learning platform that connects language learners with language teachers from around the world.

Here are some of the pros and cons of using italki:

Pros

Huge selection of teachers: italki has a massive selection of language teachers to choose from, so you’re likely to find someone who fits your learning style and goals. You can also see how many lessons they gave and their reviews.

Affordable pricing: italki‘s pricing is quite affordable, with lessons starting at just a few dollars per hour.

Flexibility: You can schedule lessons at a time that works for you. Before booking you can see the teacher’s availabilities so planning is much easier.

Teachers are accommodating: If you want to work on something specific from a book, a situation, understanding some part of a movie, you can ask a teacher on italki.

Cons

Quality control: With so many teachers to choose from, it can be difficult to determine which ones are the most qualified and experienced. Teachers don’t have to follow a specific curriculum so it’s really a case by case when it comes to quality.

Trial errors: You might have to try a few teachers to find the one you like and unfortunately you will still have to pay the ones that aren’t a good fit. Because they also have to pay bills.

DISCOUNT:
If you want to try italki, you can get $10 credits when spending $20, so you get $10 for free lessons. No code needed, just use my link.

Overall, italki is a great platform for language learners who are looking for affordable and flexible language lessons with qualified teachers from around the world but remember that they don’t follow a curriculum.

That one I am very excited to share it with you because that’s a unique concept and I don’t think many of you know this school.

Lingoculture is a new French learning platform offering unlimited classes for one price.

Here are some of the pros and cons of using Lingoculture:

Pros

Unlimited classes: Yes, unlimited classes with one payment a month. No fine print, you get unlimited classes for 149 dollars a month.

Access to extra curriculum: With Lingoculture, you can access thousands of flashcards, 200 lessons from beginners to advanced, videos, exercises, and more.

Conversation classes: Lingoculture focuses on conversation scenarios instead of just doing grammar drills. This one hurts my feelings a bit but I get it.

$1 trial: With Lingoculture, you can get unlimited classes for a week for only $1. You can’t beat that! Wait until the end of my review for an additional discount.

Cons

Concept: I love the all-inclusive concept for $149 dollars but if you don’t use it or only do a couple of lessons, that’s $149 for 0 or a few lessons. You need to use it to make it worth your money.

Trial errors: You might have to try a few teachers to find the one you like and unfortunately you will still have to pay the ones that aren’t a good fit. Because they also have to pay bills.

Focused on French Culture: That’s probably a personal dislike but it’s all about France France France. For me it’s the equivalent as learning English to go to England and totally ignore all the other English-Speaking countries. I mean just in Europe, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland are also French speaking countries. That’s probably my French pet peeve but please learn about other countries as well. It’s too bad to learn a language to focus only on France.

Special discount:
If you use my link and add the code perfectfrench, you get $10 off on your first month after the 1st week that you already have for 1$

Overall, Lingoculture is a great language learning platform with experienced teachers and a more fun curriculum than others I would say. Make sure to use it for your money and make sure that you can attend classes according to their hours before you sign up.

Lingoda

Lingoda is an online language learning school that offers live, group classes and private lessons with native-speaking teachers. Lingoda is also known for their language sprints, I talked about them quite a few times on my channel.

Here are some of the pros and cons of using Lingoda:

Pros

Qualified teachers: Lingoda‘s teachers are native speakers and are highly qualified and experienced.

Structured curriculum: Lingoda offers structured courses with clearly defined learning objectives, so you can track your progress and know what to expect.

Flexible scheduling: Lingoda offers classes 24/7, so you can schedule lessons at a time that works for you, no matter where you live.

Interactive classes: Lingoda‘s classes are highly interactive, with opportunities for speaking and practicing the language in real-time, even in group classes.

Free trial: Lingoda offers a free trial for new students, which allows you to try out the platform and see if it’s a good fit for you. Once again, wait until the end of my review for an additional discount.

Cons

Price: Lingoda‘s prices are higher than some other online language learning platforms, especially if you’re looking for private lessons. 1-1 classes start at $40 and decrease depending on how much you buy. Group classes are $20 and decrease depending on how much you buy. That can be pricy for a lot of people.

Test: You might have to try a few teachers to find the one you like and unfortunately you will still have to pay the ones that aren’t a good fit. Just like italki.

DISCOUNT:
By using my link and adding the code FRENCHDYLANE, you get a 30% discount on the first payment.

Code: FRENCHDYLANE

Overall, Lingoda is a high-quality language learning school with experienced teachers and a structured curriculum. But it may not be the best fit for those on a tight budget or those looking for a wider variety of courses.
